Almost Missed My Flight, Loving the Area, Hermana Latham, Crazy Drivers, etc.

I love you all so much!! I cant wait to be able to talk to some of you on Christmas but just know that i love you all.

Well the flight was super long!! hahaha we almost lost our connecting flight to Osorno from Santiago because they changed gates and becasue it was in spanish we had no idea. It was a close one! We had to run all the way across the airport and barely made it in time. We arrived at the Osorno airport around noon and we were welcomed with warm hugs and kisses on the side of our cheeks since that is the culture here. When we got to out mission home we were able to figure out who was going to be our companions and our area!! My companions name is Hermana Latham. She only has 3 months left so once she in done training me she will be flying home. So i got a professional thank goodness!! ha! Shes super sweet and has anxiety attacks sometimes so Ive been trying to help with that. I get her laughing when she is stressed, I noticed it helps her. She is so amazing though. Anyways my area is not Valdivia though. Its actually here in Osorno part 2. So my companion and I have been trying to both get to know the area and the people here becasue we were white washed. Which means that they took out the last two and put in two brand new ones. Ha lets just say its been fun adn we are well acustomed to our map hahaha poor map...it looks pretty beat from the wind and water.

I loe my area!! The people here are hard core Catholic so most of them wont listen to our beautiful message. However we have found 2 potential investigators while knocking doors and it seems like it just might work. I hope so...their lifes will improve dramatically if so. Anyways ...lo siento.. I am off track. Okay ha so that whole day we arrived we went through orientation and meetings...which by the way we all had a hard time staying awaked through becasue we were all super exhausted from the lack of sleep on the flight. Oh and did I mention how great the food was on the plane?? It was amazing...well I dont know for sure if it was ecasue i was so hungry that it appeared that way or if it actually was. Haha who knows. Then the next day we went down to the Visa agency and applied for a VISA which should come in about 3 months and until then i have to carry this paper on me everywhere i go.

I am just so grateful that the assistants to the president helped us through the entire process. What a BLESSING! Shortly after that I met my companion Hermana Latham. Ooh so theres another investigator that we have her name is Ingrid and I just love her and her son so much. They are catholic but they are open so we are working with them. They have just sweet spirits. The little boy...reminds me of you MARK!!! Oh and I forgot to mention that I dont understand anything they are saying here!!!! Ha I am not even joking... they speak super fast and they drop like the last half of the word and dont conjugate things like your honestly supposed to...well according to all the rules of the Spanish language. Hah its quite entertaining. Ive gotten really good at the ackward smile that says yepp... I dont have any clue to what youre saying. LOL! But I am trying and and I know that the Lord will bless me for my efforts.

The people here are honestly very sweet but the drivers man...are crazy! JK they are all wonderful and I just love them all but the drivers just drive crazy. Which makes sense because they get paid on each person they pick up so the car gets pretty tight...and the speed limits well lets just say they dont have any. Ha its quite entertaining. I really love them.

We had our ward council meeting yesterday to figure out how we can help the members. I guess that there are a few families that dont get along with eachother which is normal sadly. So we are figuring out what we feel the members and lass active members need and how we can help fulfill that need. But hey the church is perfect just not the men. I love this Church.

So I never realized exactly how many diverse things we do as missionaries. Its really interesting to me and really energizing. I love the work of the Lord, its hard and you get turned down A LOT! Whats funny is that each time you get turn down it hurts but then you just have hope that someday they will open their door or their heart to the message. Once they open their heart and have that desire to know then the Holy Ghost can testify to the truthfulness. I think the most interesting thing I am experiencing is when my companion and I feel that this certain door needs to be knocked or when we feel that this person needs this specific thing when we didnt even talk about it previously. The Holy Ghost really is a gift.

So this last Sunday I was shocked hahaha I didnt think it was starting becasue there were so few people in the Chapel. hahaha and it was considered a good turn out. I think we had about 30 people in there which seems like a decent amount until you look around the cultural hall and it seems empty. hahaha I love my ward though. So if it shrinks any more then we are moving to a branch so we are working with getting to know the members and helping the less actives along with just everyone. I have really grown to love service. Its energizingh and the look on their faces when you help them or offer to is priceless. I love everyone here. Thank you for your prayers and your emails. I absolutely love reading them. I love you and I miss you all!! God loves you all! I know it because He has helped me love these people that I barely know. Its a wonderful thing to feel even just a portion of that love that God has for His children.

Ill try to attach pictures...love you!
