Happy Thanksgiving, Leaving for Chile Soon, Highlighting the BoM, Turning Out Instead of In

Happy Thanksgiving for real...
hahaha we all thought it was last week. Apparently not lol! Oops i guess thats what we get when we are busy in the work. Yesterday we taught Jorge his last lesson. It was a beautiful lesson. The Spirit was there. :)

I havent gotten my flight itinerary yet but im pretty sure im leaving on Monday and we will be arriving on Tuesday in Chile! Im really excited. I guess based on the other girls itineraries that we will be staying in Osorno for 10 days until we are distributed to our specific areas! I am super excited! I cant wait to be fully submersed in the work! I hope you all know how much I love you guys! Oh so we had our pictures taken as a district and you will probably be getting a picture sent to you from Hermana Jones. She is the sweetest lady ever!

So our last devotional was about how when you are called to be a missionary, you are called to be a missionary forever. It was an MTC devotional by Elder Holland. It was beautiful. He talked about how when Jesus came back after leaving that his disciples were fishing again. As soon as they realized that it was Jesus, Peter jumped out of the boat and swam to the Savior. Jesus then asked Peter if he loved Him. Peter replied yes Lord I love Thee. He did this 3 times and on the third time Peter still answered yeah Lord I love Thee and it was then that Jesus replied then feed my sheep. It was at that moment that Peter changed from being Peter to Peter the great. Jesus gave us the perfect example. When He calls us to be missionaries or moms or dads or something.. its an eternal round. Peter understood that and its important that we understand that as member missionaries and as children of God. Its important that we gain testimonies of doctrine buts its even more important that we live the doctrine we learn. Through doing it our testimonies strengthen and by them strengthening we become more fully converted to the Lord. Once you are converted to the Lord you cant turn back because conversion is a process and the more you get closer to Him, the more you experience light, the better you can see the difference between black and white.

Oh before i forget, I challenge you all to figure out a question you have about the gospel, for example Christs character then take a simple, inexpensive Book of Mormon and read it with the intent of figuring it out. Highlight in it, write in it your impressions, and once you are done reading and marking it up, go over it. Then write a paragraph about what you learned. Keep doing this and by the time you are Elder Scotts age you should have around a couple hundred Books of Mormon showing what you learned. In that devotional i also learned something that i never realized before.

While Christ was being tempted by Satan and suffering greatly for us so that we can return to Him, the scripture which i dont have...so sorry.. says that after He cast away Satan that Angels came and administered unto Him and comforted Him but if you go down in the footnotes it says that He actually sent angels to go administer and comfort His apostles that were thrown in jail. Even after all He went through He still turned out when the natural man inside each one of us would turn in. Let us all strive to become more like the Savior and when we want to turn in and have a pity trip...let us turn our in service and love to others. I promise you that as you do so you will feel the love of God greater in your lives and you will grow in Christlike attributes. Its not easy..trust me hahah but I know that it has helped me tremendously in the field.

My love for others has grown and I feel the Saviors influence in my life more each day. I love you all so much and miss you. Thank you for your love and support. I will let you all know my flight numbers and information as soon as I receive it. I love you all and Happy Thanksgiving!

Love,
Hermana Brown
